Behold: Batsheva Furniture! Plus 3 Other Design Launches We Have Our Eye On

Batsheva Hay has been designing her personal furniture for over four years now. Step inside her Upper West Side apartment, and you’ll see a bright orange couch with a floral back cushion and a healthy assortment of leopard pillows, all made from vintage fabrics akin to the old-school prints she uses in her eponymous fashion brand, Batsheva. So perhaps it was a fait accompli that she’d eventually decide to launch her own home collection. “Through the years, I have found so much great vintage fabric that is too heavy for clothing, so I decided to dress furniture in it,” she tells Vogue. “Decorating my home feels like decorating my body, just more permanent. It’s like wearing a dress and never taking it off and just hanging out in your living room in it for years.”

Available on their website and at their New York City showroom, the Batsheva furniture collection includes a sofa and two different types of chairs, all adorned in a modish mismatch of motifs. (Think everything from chintz, to animal print, to patchwork.)

“The fabrics I used for these furniture pieces are all vintage upholstery that I have collected for years. Some are from the 1920s and the most recent ones are from the 1980s. I liked mashing up asynchronous fabrics—a bright watercolor floral from the 1980s with a 1970s acid green faux patchwork piece, or a 1920s floral print with an ’80s velvet zebra,” Hay explains.

Her creations aren’t the only exciting decor launch: J.Crew teamed up with Liberty London on a playful new textile and bedding collection, while famed interior designer Mark D. Sikes—who was recently tapped by Jill Biden to redesign her East Wing Office—launched a made-for-summer collection with Anthropologie.

Below, the new home launches we have our eyes on.

Mark D. Sikes for Anthropologie

Mark D. Sikes, Jill Biden’s chosen interior designer for her East Wing office, has masterminded a new collection for Anthropologie. It embraces an elevated bohemian-meets-Americana aesthetic: ottomans and sofas are upholstered in a white-and-blue watercolor-esque check, wallpapers and plates come in a joyful floral print, and a pitcher pays visual homage to the classic basket-woven texture. You’ll want to snap up the dinner- and tableware in particular for all your summer entertaining needs.

Misette

Misette’s new spring home launch reinterprets well-known artistic motifs on dinnerware, table linens, and candles: the Floral collection takes cues from both Matisse’s collage work and floral folk art, and the Line Drawing collection’s squiggly, seaside designs are inspired by Picasso’s line drawings. Everything is available on Misette.com and, starting April 15, in select Nordstrom stores and online.

J. Crew x Liberty Home

Olympia Gayot, Head of Women’s Design at J. Crew, told Vogue that J. Crew’s new home decor collection with oh-so-British brand Liberty London aims to embody the “art of living”: “[You can] bring the table pieces to a park picnic or into your backyard for hosting to create a really beautiful tablescape, use the crib sheets as a defining feature of a nursery, or refresh your own bedding for the season with something vibrant and bold,” she previously said. Indeed, the bright-and-bold collection—which includes four different prints, from the paisley “Giorgia Duke” to the spring-like “Club Nouveau”–are perfect for the artful maximalist.
